PROJECT SUMMARY:
 
 THE JOHNSON CENTER AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY IS A MULTI-STORY BUILDING THAT INCLUDES FOOD COURTS, OFFICE SPACES, A CINEMA, AND LIBRARY CENTERED ON A MAIN ATRIUM. PROJECT WORK GENERALLY INCLUDES REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING CENTRAL STATION AIR HANDLING UNITS AND ASSOCIATED SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEMS. THE NEW ATRIUM SMOKE CONTROL SYSTEM WILL BE INDEPENDENT OF SYSTEMS USED FOR HEATING, VENTILATING, AND AIR CONDITIONING. THE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETED IN PHASES TO ACCOMMODATE CONTINUOUS OCCUPANCY THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION.
