Who Can Drive?
a. Students: must be at least 20 years of age, have possessed a valid driver’s license for a minimum of two years;
b. Employees (including student wage employees): must be at least 18 years of age and have possessed a valid driver’s license for a minimum of two years;
*To be eligible to drive an 11 or 12 passenger Maxi Van, you must be at least 20 years of age, pass the “Van Driver Familiarization Class” course offered by the University Police Department and possess a valid driver’s license.
Students, part-time or hourly employees, and volunteers in service to the State or University are authorized to operate or ride in a State/University owned vehicle for the purpose of official State/University business.
To drive an Enterprise rental car, you must be 21. Enterprise’s age requirement to drive a 12-15 passenger van is 25.
Who Can Ride?
Individuals not employed by the State or University may accompany State/University employees operating a State/University vehicle when they have an interest in the purpose of the trip and their presence is directly related to official State/University business.
Friends or relatives of State/University employees are not allowed to ride in State/University owned vehicles unless the friend or family member’s travel is directly related to official State/University business.
Hitchhikers and pets are not allowed to ride in State/University owned vehicles.
Passengers under the age of 18 are not permitted to ride in maxi vans.
