This project constructs a 50,000
SF building for use as Fairfax campus swing
space. 25,000 SF will be devoted as space
required for relocating units from other
buildings scheduled for renovation. The other
25,000 SF will be constructed as permanent
location for the University Data Center. The
project schedule is connected to renovation
schedules of Thompson and West Halls. Work
cannot begin on the Swing Space building until
after completion of West Hall.

The Request for Proposals has been received from the short listed firms for the Fairfax Swing Space/Data Center. The proposals are being evaluated and technical presentations were held on November 14. With completion of this swing space, we will relocate Thompson Hall occupants and begin, in two phases, whole building renovation in Thompson.
