What’s recyclable?

Mason has a number of recycling streams. Each of these streams contain a wide variety of recyclable
materials, making the majority of what you use day to day recyclable! Below is a list of what can be
recycled in each of the following streams!




White Paper:

Letterhead
Lined paper
Cardstock
Calculator tape
Receipts

soda caps, plastic coffee cups)

Cardboard:

For cardboard, make sure the box is empty, flatten it, then put it behind,
on top of, or next to a cluster
of recycling bins.

E-Waste:

For disposal of computers, electronics, and office furniture on campus, contact University Surplus.

For disposal of batteries and fluorescent tubes, HID and CFL
light bulbs, please refer to the Environmental Health and
Safety office
for proper disposal procedures.

Miscellaneous: 

These items are also recycled at Mason, but do not have
collection bins. Recycling and waste management collects
these items from where they are produced on an as need basis.

  • Please place all recyclables in appropriate containers.

  • Please be sure cans and bottles are clean, dry and completely empty.

  • Do not place napkins, paper cups, styrofoam cups, container caps, cigarettes and packing peanuts into recycling bins. Thank you.
