Native Plants Project

The Native Plants Project began in 2006 as a partnership between the Grounds Shop and Mason Students interested in helping to turn Mason the next shade of green.

The latest accomplishment is the GMU Native Plants Garden, located downhill from Science and Tech II and across the street from the Sandy Creek Parking Deck.

The garden includes more than 25 plants native to the Piedmont Plateau of Northern Virginia. Most of the plants were donated by local non-profit Earth Sangha. Others were transplanted from areas of Mason now under construction.

Any students who wish to become involved with the Native Plants Project are encouraged to contact the Environmental Awareness Group.
