Pickup and Return

When picking up a rental vehicle, you must present a valid driver’s license and Mason ID to Facilities Services Staff. You will be asked to fill out a “Scratch and Dent” form, noting visible damage/defects to the vehicle assigned. Facilities
Services Staff will give instruction on the use of the fuel card if needed and answer any questions you may have before beginning your trip.

After Hours Return

Vehicles may be returned to the Facilities Services Motor Pool 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When returning a vehicle to Motor Pool after hours, park the vehicle in the space with the corresponding vehicle number. Make sure to raise all windows and set the emergency brake. Leave the signed “Trip” sheet, recording the ending odometer in the vehicle and lock all doors. Put the keys in the “Key Drop Box” located just outside the main entrance to the Motor Pool Office.

Please remember to take all your personal belongings and remove any trash from the vehicle before return.

Late Return

Vehicle rentals with a scheduled pick up time after 1:00 pm will not be charged for the rental day “out”. Rentals with a scheduled return time of 10:00 am or later will be charged for the return day. If the scheduled return time is prior to 10:00 am, but the vehicle is actually returned after 10:00 am, the same rule will apply.

Additional daily fees will be charged for every day the vehicle, keys, or fuel card are not returned after the scheduled return date.
